Do you know how to say them in Japanese? It’s interesting!
(Picture from http://bildungblog.blogspot.com)
Thumb -> 親指 (Parent Finger)
Index Finger -> 人差し指 (People Pointer Finger)
Middle Finger -> 中指 (Middle Finger)
Ring Finger -> 薬指 (Medicine Finger)
Little Finger -> 小指 (Little Finger)
Clearly the most interesting designation is the “Medicine Finger”. It has that name, because a long time ago, people used to use/take liquid medicine with that finger. It was put on one hand, and then used with the “Medicine Finger” of the other hand!
