Japanese Vocabulary Lesson 29: Public services

Last Japanese Lesson of the year!

Today I thought of some more vocabulary, this time related to public services, infrastructures, etc. It is quite useful in everyday life, so don’t miss them!

Bank – 銀行 (ぎんこう, ginko)
City hall – 市役所 (しやくしょ, shiyakusho)
Cultural hall – 文化会館 (ぶんかかいかん, bunka kaikan)
Firefight department – 消防局 (しょうぼうきょく, shouboukyoku)
Hospital – 病院 (びょういん, byouin)
Insurance office – 保険事務所 (ほけんじむしょ, hoken jimusho)
Pharmacy – 薬局 (やっきょく, yakkyoku)
Police – 警察 (けいさつ, keisatsu)
Post office – 郵便局 (ゆうびんきょく, yuubinkyoku)
School – 学校 (がっこう, gakkou)
Waterworks department – 水道局 (すいどうきょく, suidoukyoku)
Ward office – 区役所 (くやくしょ, kuyakusho)
